General
1. My son is a very heavy sleeper. Will the alarm be able to wake him up?
DryEasy alarm is equipped with 3 selectable sounds which are designed for heavy sleepers. The maximum volume is up to 85 db. If necessary, you can set the volume to the maximum level with the vibration mode on. For the best results, the alarm should be attached close to the collar bone or shoulder and never be muffled by bedding. Parents are also advised to sleep in the same room with the child for the first 2 weeks of using the alarm, for rapid response on hearing or feeling the alarm can enhance the success rate in overcoming bedwetting.

2. What type of underwear should be used?
Close fitting underwear should be used for the sensor can detect moisture faster.

3. How long does the sensor last for? Do I have to replace it regularly?
The sensor is a long-lasting item. If you follow the instructions and use it properly, you don't have to replace it. It only needs to be cleaned regularly.

4. Where should I clip the sensor?
The sensor should be clipped to the outside and NOT inside of the underwear. It should be attached to the part which gets wet first. For boys, it should be the front part of the underwear whilst for girls, it should be around the crotch area.

5. Can I use the alarm with pull-ups or disposable pants?
DryEasy alarm is not designed to use with pull-ups or disposable pants. The absorbent materials of the pull-ups or disposable pants absorbs the moisture quickly which will in turn defer the sensor from detecting the moisture.

6. Where should I attach the alarm box to the clothing?
For best results, the alarm box should be attached close to the collar bone as it can be easily heard by your child.

7. How do I clean the sensor?
The following are the procedures for cleaning the sensor:
  • Soak the sensor and shake it gently in warm soapy water. (DO NOT put the plug/phone jack in water. If it gets wet, dry it before use.)
  • Rinse the sensor in running water.
  • Hold the sensor and swing it till dry.
  • To ensure the sensor is thoroughly dried, you may use a clean cloth and a hair dryer with warm air.

It is recommended to clean the sensor during day time when the alarm is not in use.

8. How often do I need to clean the sensor?
To keep the alarm in good condition, the sensor should be cleaned every few days so as to remove the urine residue left on it.

9. How long does the treatment take?
Typical treatment takes 6-12 weeks but it varies from person to person, for there can be lots of variables. Motivation and persistence are very important. A supportive family can help shorten the time required for overcoming bedwetting and enhance the success rate.

10. When can I stop using the alarm after achieving dryness?
It is advisable to keep using the alarm for 4 more weeks after dryness so as to lower the chance of relapse.

Troubleshooting
1. How do I stop the alarm from sounding?
DryEasy alarm has a 2-step turnoff system for the purpose of preventing your child from stopping the alarm and then falling asleep again. The proper way to stop the alarm is to lift up the lever of the sensor and then press the "reset" button.

2. Is the alarm faulty if it goes off when the sensor cord is plugged to the alarm box without clipping anything?
It is usually caused by excess urine residue left on the sensor. You are suggested to clean the sensor every few days so as to keep it in good condition. Please follow the suggested procedure for cleaning and drying the sensor.

3. Why can't I turn off the alarm after my child has just used it?

When this happens, it indicates the sensor is still wet. You can turn alarm off by unplugging the sensor cord from the alarm box and pressing the “reset” button. After that, please follow the suggested procedure for cleaning and drying the sensor.

This situation also arises if you incorrectly attach the sensor to the inside of instead of the outside of the underwear.

4. My child moves around a lot in his sleep. What can I do if the alarm does not stay connected to the underwear?
To prevent this from happening, the cord should go UNDER the pajamas as the sensor will not gets dislodged so easily.

5. How do I know if the alarm is in working condition?

Here are simple tests to confirm the above:

To test the alarm box:

  • Disconnect the sensor from the alarm box.
  •  Use a paper clip to touch the two metal prongs inside the socket of the alarm box where the sensor was plugged in (see photo). The paper clip has to touch both prongs at the same time. If the alarm starts sounding when you do so, it indicates the alarm is working properly. To turn it off, remove the paper clip and press the “reset” button.

To test the sensor (ToggleSmart sensor)

Plug the sensor cord to the alarm box. Test the alarm by touching the sensor tip (metal prongs) with a wet finger. If the alarm goes off, it indicates the sensor is working properly.

To test the sensor (Standard sensor)

Plug the sensor cord to the alarm box and then press down the lever of the sensor without clipping anything. If the alarm goes off, it indicates the sensor is working properly.
